J-世界的gimp: Ueno district, Tokyo.

My friend Mareka asked me recently why I wanted to stay in Ueno. "it's sleazy"! She exclaimed. Unwittingly, she had answered her own question. Actually, calling Ueno sleazy is slightly unfair (from my Westernised perspective). Ueno is a bustling market area... Part market / Part park. If you want to see the Blossom in full bloom in Tokyo, you must surely see it in Ueno Park.

Ueno City

Click on 'Drunken Master' to get to the gallery. I chose this picture only because I wanted to write about him. He was passed out, see. At only 22:30 at night, see. He'd been drinking with the fishes, see. He was fully clothed, and had his bag next to him. He was unconcious right by the side of the road... but the expression on his face, he was... he was so... happy. Soooo happy sleeping on a road in Ueno.
