Harajuku is a busy, busy, busy place! It also rains alot when I'm there, and the panoramic picture shows the sea of umbrellas. Also, some pics are of the shop Tama Depa, which is a Tamagotchi superstore. Ahh yes, remember those things? They gained popularity in the West during the mid-nineties. That storm has long since blown away, but the l'il critters in Japan still love 'em. The shop also sells doughnuts and other sweets, stickers, and anything other paraphernalia connected to those tiny machines that ACTUALLY LIVE and BREATH. Or something. I remember a former colleagueback in Manchesteraround that time (the mid-nineties), who had just purchased one. It absolutely infuriated her, and when I enquired what the problem was, she replied "the little bastard's died four times this morning alone!"

ABOVE + BELOW LEFT & RIGHT: The Tama Depa store, which was teeming with tiny Japanese children, hassling their poor parents for the latest 'need'. Some of the people frequenting this establishment appeared to be perhaps a little too old for this Tamagotchi phenomenomenom, but (sighhh) this is Japan after all, and needs reign supreme. Check out the staring gentleman below right. His kids are happy. He ain't.
