Pieces aka Mil Gritos Tiene La Noche (Juan Piquer Simón, 1982)
1980s Spanish Sleaze-fest Pieces has all the right ingredients for a chainsaw exploitation pic; lots of nudity, lots of rather unnecessary, OTT splatter-gore, poor dubbing and crud 80's music by CAM (in the American version, that is). And it's all over in 85 minutes, lovely stuff!
Directed by Juan Piquer Simón in 1982, Pieces is a classic chainsaw exploitation romp that has it's tongue firmly in it's cheek. You know exactly where the film is going, and it goes there with a great big bloody smile on its face. The story is standard: A murderer is on the rampage in a school, but all the victims are saucy young girls, most of whom are picked off in a state of undress. The film also includes some of the dumbest, most inept cops in cinematic history, and legendary B-movie actor Paul L Smith, as 'Willard' the gardener / janitor / red- herring type of character.
All in all, Pieces is a highly enjoyable blood-bath. So, as the random kung-fu guy from the 'random kung-fu scene' says "Bad chop suey, so long!"
