Haukadalur has lots of beautiful scenery and a genuine natural geysir. Actually Geysir (pronounced "guy-sir"as opposed to "geezer") is a place much closer to Reykjavik, but the bubbling
steaming mass of water there died out many years ago. The name, however, stuck. Follow the bits of steam in the pictures, and that's the geysir. But don't get too close. It runs hot, hot, hot!
