Valley of DEATH!
Gullfoss
Waves of fury!
Gullfoss
There are nine pictures above taken in March 2011, amidst a snow storm. Eventually the storm cleared, and the sun (briefly) came out. It was nice to get pictures of Gullfoss from different angles in conditions that weren't life threatening. Now then, the pictures below are of the rock side of Gullfoss. The patterns on these rocks are extremely beautiful, so I took some close-up pictures. Right at the bottom of the page is another, smaller waterfall that lies between Gullfoss and Reykjavik. It's called viư faxa.

Crikey. I very nearly perished at Gullfoss in 2009. It happened whilst trying to get closer to the enormous waterfall, I slipped on the ice and very nearly fell over the side. Hence my nickname for Gullfoss is 'the valley of DEATH!' And what an unbelievable place it is! And it's HUGE! Look below, and to the left you can see some people that'll give the area a sense of scale. Nature... raw and furious! RAWIOUS!
