January 2014. A two-week jaunt through North & Central Vietnam ('NARM®) began in Hanoi. I thought Hanoi was hectic & stinky, but I still enjoyed my time there. The people are very friendly & rather curious about Westerners who visit. At time I found myself chatting to locals whilst walking down the street - not hawkers, mind, just curious locals interested in where you're from and why you're visiting their picturesque country. Very hospitable people indeed.

The two pictures ABOVE are perhaps my favourites. They both represent Vietnam perfectly, and both were taken 'on the fly'... The spontaneity being more evident in the picture with the cyclo. I also enjoy the general street pictures of Ha Noi. The organized madness of the traffic, people going about their business, you get the idea. BELOW LEFT: The boutique called... 'KEN'. ABOVE & ALL AROUND: Van Mieu AKA the Temple of Literature, is a temple dedicated to Confucius in Central Hanoi. It is probably the most revered temple in the City, and boasts attractive gardens. Whilst I was visiting, there was some kind of kooky festival going on, with shouting, screaming and little girls dressed in pink dancing with pom-poms.
