For me, the main reason to visit Myanmar was to see Bagan, the ancient temple town which used to be called Pagan. It didn't disappoint, that's for sure. Bagan is a very beautiful place to visit, and I spent a very enjoyable 7 days there in January 2015. I hired a bicycle and just wandered around the place, trying in between to avoid French coach parties (why so many?) And hawkers wanting 'lucky money'. The locals were very welcoming and very lovely indeed. Enjoy Bagan!
Most, but not all of these pictures are from Hsu-taung pyi & Min-o-chan-tha. These temples have real character, and the area between the two is a good place to sit, relax and make sense of it all without getting pestered by hawkers. This was definitely a favourite of mine, and due to it's location close to Old Bagan, I kept finding myself stopping there.
