ABOVE: A nice building along Piet Heinkade, which is quite close to the modern Bimhuis concert hall, which is for Jazz/ improvised music. Right next door to the Bimhuis is the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ ("Music Building on the IJ"), which is also a concert hall, but for classical music.

Sail 2010 aka Tall ships- The area that surrounds Amsterdam's River IJ has changed an awful lot over the years, particularly the area stretching East from Centraal Station. Tall Ships is every five years, and Sail 2010 attracted an enormous amount of visitors... too many, truth be told. Here are a few highlights:
