TARGET: The AKIRA ART WALL, SHIBUYA , TOKYO JAPAN. The Shibuya PARCO rebuilding work had a temporary enclosure: The AKIRA ART WALL.The design features new panels from Katsuhiro Otomo’s manga, alongside a new collaboration with illustrator Kosuke Kawamura. The Wall had three stages with three different 'chapters'. This is the third & final chapter before the PARCO reopens in Autumn 2019.
I do not live in Japan, so I missed the first two chapters (sad face). Searching "渋谷に『AKIRA』の新アートウォ『PARCO』" will put you on the right track (happy face). All Pics are from April 2019.
There were three parts to the wall. Part 1 is above. Part 2 was around the corner leading to UNIQLO. Due to the massive size of the collages, I've had to split Part 2 in to two parts.
LEFT: Part 3. This is the main picture in the middle of the wall, which separated the two long pieces. EPIC.
The AKIRA WALL won the GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2018
